About Gregory James Blount

Gregory James Blount is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Media Arts and has worked on such movies as Days of Thunder, Prince of Tides and Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken. He moved to New York City to pursue his passion for modeling and acting after receiving a modeling contract with the then famous men’s agency, ZOLI. While living in New York, Gregory began working for the industry recognized publishing company, Peter Glenn Publications, and by age of 27, bought the industry giant and still runs the publishing division today. In May 2014, PGP will celebrate its 58th year in business and is considered the industry resource for the modeling and talent community.

In 2009, Gregory created Sound Tree Entertainment with his first project being a concert here in Florida with Disney Channel star Mitchel Musso (Hannah Montana, Pair of Kings). The company has recently moved forward to produce feature films, music videos and TV shows, with several projects currently in pre-production. Gregory served on the Film Florida Education Council for the state of Florida. He has also written a guide for aspiring talent and parents called Talent 101 - The Guide to Breaking Into the Entertainment Industry and Not Get Scammed, with author Marie Anderson, who is credited with discovering such talents as supermodel Cindy Crawford. Over the course of Gregory’s career, he has discovered several top stars including actress Amber Heard (3 Days to Kill with Kevin Costner, Paranoia with Harrison Ford and The Rum Diary with Johnny Depp). Gregory has also worked with such young Hollywood stars such as Ryan Newman (Nickelodeon's See Dad Run), Kira Kosarin (Nickelodeon's The Thundermans), and Cade Sutton (Underdogs, Kirby Buckets).

In 2011, under a division of the company, Gregory created the Entertainment Speakers Bureau, which exclusively works with some of today's top casting directors and acting coaches including casting director Jason La Padura (Disney’s The Descendants, Teen Beach Movie, Camp Rock, High School Musical). Disney improv coach Ezra Weisz (Liv & Maddie, Wizards of Waverly Place, Jessie, Austin & Ally, Sonny with a Chance ) and Shawn-Caulin Young (Glee, Victorious, ANT Farm, The Hunger Games).

Gregory is an Eagle Scout and supports the efforts of several charities and organizations that focus on helping and serving others including the Boy Scouts of America, TOMS Shoes and the Village Academy in Delray Beach. In September 2012, Gregory produced a national PSA at Lakewood Church in Houston for Blessings in a Backpack with Disney Channel star Jake Short (Fletcher from ANT Farm) and Olivia Osteen, niece of Pastor Joel Osteen.

In 2013, Gregory started the EMPPAC Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation to impact the lives of aspiring talent through the performing arts and education. Gregory produces two acting camps in Los Angeles each year for aspiring talent and their parents with top industry professionals, casting directors and acting coaches.

Gregory is the creative visionary and founder of the Eagle Arts Academy. On August 18th, 2014, Gregory opened the Eagle Arts Academy Charter School for the Arts in Wellington, Florida with nearly 700 students from kindergarten through 8th grade. The school supports the importance of an arts education and infuses technology to engage a child in the learning process. Eagle Arts Academy is the only school in the world that has the license to use Walt Disney’s image, as Walt was a strong believer in arts education.
